Products

The Products view in Babel Licensing provides a comprehensive interface for managing all software products that can be licensed through the system. This view allows administrators to create, edit, and manage product entries that form the foundation of your licensing infrastructure.

Overview

The Products view displays a tabular list of all software products registered in your Babel Licensing system. Each row represents a unique product with its key properties displayed across multiple columns.

Action Buttons

At the top of the Products view, you’ll find several important action buttons:

• ADD: Creates a new product entry
• Search: Allows you to search for specific products
• Column Chooser: Enables adding or removing column information (button with document icon)
• Refresh: Updates the product list to reflect the latest changes

Product List Columns

The product grid displays the following information for each product:

• Code: The unique product code/SKU (e.g., BPU01, B0030)
• Name: The full name of the product (e.g., ACME TradeSphere Standard Upgrade)
• Created At: The date and time when the product was created in the system
• Price: The product’s price in the configured currency (e.g., €250.00)
• Description: A brief description of the product

Row Actions

Each product row includes action buttons:

• Edit (pencil icon): Opens the product editor to modify the product details
• Delete (trash can icon): Removes the product from the system

At the bottom of the page, a pagination control allows you to navigate between pages of products.

Usage Guidelines

Creating a New Product

1. Click the ADD button at the top of the product list
2. Fill in the product details, including:
   • Product code
   • Full product name
   • Price information
   • Description
3. Chose the Sign Keys which will be used to sign all the licenses
4. Configure any additional product properties
5. Save the product

Managing Existing Products

1. Use the search functionality to locate specific products
2. Click the edit (pencil) icon to modify a product
3. Use the delete (trash can) icon to remove products that are no longer offered

Product-Template Relationship

Products defined in this view serve as the foundation for license templates. When creating license templates, you’ll select products from this list to associate with the template. This relationship ensures that licenses are properly tied to specific products with their respective features and restrictions.
